Photography is one way that I am able to experience the moment, suspend time and re-connect with being. Each of my images is the result of patient hours spent in the field, exploring, learning, feeling, and seeing. Occasionally everything aligns and I get to bring home meaningful images, but regardless of my photographic success I enjoy every minute of the outdoor exploration. I am striving to capture the unique beauty and character of those moments. Photography on Metal represented by Oils by the Sea Gallery, 437 Commercial Street, Provincetown.
My white line woodcuts are a different means of conveying my love for Provincetown, nature and beauty. I use color, pattern, and narrative compositions to capture the moments that make life here on the Outer Cape unique. The art form of white line woodcuts was invented in Provincetown 100 years ago. I love being a part of the history of this town and the connection to past printmakers who also created here. White Line Woodcuts represented by James R.
